Kalamárka - the jewel of climbing areas in the whole wide Slovakia. Andesite beauty hidden in the forests of Poľana, directly above the town of Detva. Climbing here is very specific. It is loved here by enthusiasts of slats, foxes, microlisses and spars, and also by those who like to air out their crampons or friends from time to time. Most of the trails are lined with glued down berms, but even in them you can check your morale from time to time. What is most attractive about Kalamarka, however, is its magical atmosphere. The guidebook covers 5 areas in 352 pages: the Upper Rocks, the Lower Rocks, the Southern Rocks, the Boriak Rocks and the Melich Rocks, with a few pages devoted to the icefalls. There are 649 routes in total. The most extensive area are the Upper Rocks (320 paths) and the Lower Rocks (211 paths), the most magical are the Boriak Rocks, and the Melichova skala also breathes a special atmosphere.
