The third volume of the edition ROCKS IN SLOVAKIA is a monograph of the beautiful climbing area DREVENÍK. Dreveník is located in the east of Slovakia, not far from Spišský hrad and is interesting for its romantic travertine towers in Raj, awesome almost 30-meter high walls in Pekle and difficult routes on Červený previsy. We spent a wonderful year full of searching for information about the history of climbing in this area, about the authors of the routes, about the routes themselves and their metamorphoses, finding photos of old and new ones and drawing the towers, spires and walls. We met a lot of nice and interesting people, dusted off some forgotten routes... The result is a guidebook with almost 300 restored paths on over 200 pages. There is also information about where to go on a free day, what we protect from plants and animals, some information about the personalities who have made their mark on the Woodland and especially a lot of diagrams with climbing routes. For most of the routes the author and year of the climb or RP of the climb, a short description, classification, number of belays, beauty of the route, .... are also documented. And you can also enjoy nice photos from the present and historical. Above all, it has to be said that Drevenik is a fantastic area that can be boldly compared to foreign areas. It lacks only a few roads in the scale of 10 and above. Travertine is a rugged rock with many holes and holds of however many shapes. In Hell, routes in the 7-9 classification predominate, so it is mainly climbers in the 8s and 9s who will climb there, but there are also a few easier routes to climb. On the Red Overhangs there are hard bouldering routes. And Paradise? This is a real paradise for almost everyone. There are plenty of easy routes even for beginners, plus there's great access and climbing for families. Traditionalists will also come into their own here, because there are several so-called mix routes - ready to climb on your own belay and the bouldering is only in places where nothing can be established.
