Breaker with assisted braking for a wide range of single rope diameters (8.5 to 11 mm), designed for experienced breakers.
Designed for experienced belayers, GRIGRI is a belay device with assisted braking, designed for use on both climbing wall and rock. GRIGRI is lightweight and compact, it can be used with single ropes from 8,5 to 11 mm diameter. The assisted brake function increases comfort when belaying, holding climbers or catching a fall. The design of the actuated cam mechanism allows exceptional control of the climber's lowering.
- Assisted Brake belay device, compatible with a wide range of single rope diameters, for both climbing walls and rock:
- The technique of feeding and catching the rope is the same as for a classic belay device: both hands hold the rope; the fall is caught by squeezing the hand on the free end of the rope
- the assisted braking function is activated when the climber falls, the GRIGRI rotates, the rope tensions, the cam rises and locks the rope, holding the free end of the rope activates the cam, so it is important to always hold the free end of the rope in your hand
- compatibility with dynamic monofilament ropes with a diameter of 8.5 to 11 mm, optimum use with ropes with a diameter of 8.9 to 10.5 mm
